What is Mindfulness?

Jon Kabat Zinn puts it nicely, he says that Mindfulness is:
Paying attention
To the present moment
In a particular way
and without judgement

It is considered to be natural during childhood, we would easily become absorbed in whatever activity we were engaged in. In adulthood, however, we can forget this habit, in favour of to-do lists, work deadlines and myriad other distractions.

All is not lost! We can re-learn this natural skill and I offer such training through my Mindful Walks and 8-week courses.

I trained to teach the 8-week Mindfulness Based Stress Reduction (MBSR) and Mindfulness Based Cognitive Therapy (MBCT) courses.

Details of forthcoming 8-week courses will follow shortly on this page.

I trained with the Bangor Centre for Mindfulness Research & Practice (CMRP): my training is ongoing. I receive regular supervision with a Mindfulness Teachers Network accredited supervisor.

I am also a practising Buddhist and Mitra with the Triratna Buddhist organisation.
